Caravans crossing the old trade routes carried this stone out of Persia and into India, and it arrived with a name that stuck — firoza, the victorious. Riders set it into bridles and sword hilts in the belief that the stone would crack before its wearer came to harm, taking the blow on itself. Tibetan monasteries ground it into their sacred pigments. Across every culture that handled it, turquoise carried the same reputation: a fragment of the sky, given to the earth for safekeeping.
In Vedic tradition the stone is linked to Brihaspati — Jupiter, the guru of the gods — and is worn by those seeking clarity of judgement, safe passage and a steady hand in matters of fortune.
The Stone
A natural turquoise cabochon in a soft oval, showing the warm brown matrix veining that only untreated turquoise carries. No two stones repeat this pattern — the markings are the geological fingerprint of the vein it came from, and the surest sign the stone was never reconstituted or dyed.
The Silver
Hand-set in a clean bezel of 92.5 sterling silver, finished with a substantial tapered bail that takes a chain or a thicker cord without strain. The bezel is deliberately plain — with a stone this characterful, restraint is the point.
